Sports

At St Loys we deliver a wide range of activities and sports.

The children are involved in a number of sports, including:

Athletics, Tag Rugby, Basketball, Tennis, Gym, Netball, Dance and Football.

Swimming lessons: In 2018/2019, 93% of Year 6 children could swim at least 25 metres.

Swimming lessons were not completed 2019/2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

In Year 5 and 6, the children take up the Bikeability challenge with Cycling England.

Sports activities after school at St Loys are just as extensive. With our large school hall, we are able to incorporate a range of providers to come in and deliver the following:

  • Basketball with Hot Shots
  • Gymnastics with Sam Carter
  • Dance with Bounce ‘n’ Beat
  • A whole range of activities offered by the daily Morning and After School Club supported by Pacesetters.

The yearly School Sports Day is an event thoroughly enjoyed by the whole community.

We have a sports partnership with Chenderit Secondary School which allows the children to participate in competitive sport alongside other primary schools in the area.
