We welcomed into school, local resident Ernie Wheeler for a special afternoon tea to commemorate VE Day. Ernie treated us to some wonderful stories and brought in his many medals, including the Legion d’Honneur, awarded to him by the President of France for the part he played as a Royal Marine in the D-Day Invasion and subsequent liberation of France in 1944.
