St Loys Pre School

Our Pre School offers outstanding care and facilities, providing a safe and happy springboard for your child’s education. Pre School is situated within the beautiful grounds of St Loys, benefitting from close links with the day to day aspects of school and community life. The children enjoy coming into school to use the spacious hall and its equipment, joining school for assemblies and sharing lunchtime with their older peers. This natural integration helps ensure a smooth, familiar transition into school life when they make the progression into Reception class.

The Pre School has been rated as OUTSTANDING in the last two OFSTED inspections.

“As parents, both my husband and I have been blown away by the care and support offered at St Loys preschool. We believe that St Loys provides children with a wonderful, happy, safe and nurturing environment to help them grow and flourish. In our experience, all the staff really care about the children. They take time to get to know them individually and work with each child to ensure they are settled, happy and stimulated throughout their time at St Loys.”

Our staff are mature, experienced and well-trained. They expertly guide children in all areas of early learning, including mark making and sensory play. Children often explore a variety of mediums, including sand, shaving foam, bubble paint, jelly and salt dough.

There are lots of stimulating activities to encourage fine motor skills, writing and communication. There is open access to the resource trolleys, including sticking, gluing and painting.

We always have a role-play area with a change which we change and freshen regularly. These have included dinosaurs, homes, cafes and offices.

“We’ve noticed a real leap in our daughter’s development since starting at preschool. We are really happy that she’s now in a good place to start school.”

” Plenty of time is spent actively in the outside world discovering nature when play and learning is at its best”

We have our own wooded area with mud kitchen, large sandpit, water play and a safety floor for trikes and bikes.

“We are really grateful for everything that the team at St Loys has done for our child. I know that she is being cared for and looked after at all times. Above all else, she is happy! She loves going to preschool and we couldn’t ask for anything more than that!”
