Admissions

Admissions & starting school

We welcome all prospective parents to visit St Loys to observe our school in action and talk to the Head Teacher and staff. Applications are processed online via West Northamptonshire Council. The Published Admission Number for Foundation Stage children at St Loys is 15 places. Children who live outside our catchment area have successfully requested admission.

In the case of oversubscription, we prioritise applications according to the admission criteria set out in our Admissions Policy, some of which relate to religious allegiance. If you wish your child to be considered under the religious criteria, please complete Form SIF/A and return it to school as soon as possible.

The opening date for applications is 8th September 2023. New application deadlines for September 2024 admissions is midnight on 15th January 2024.

The timetable for appeals is as follows:

Following the National Offer Day on 16 April 2024, the deadline for lodging an on-time appeal is 9am on Monday 20th May 2024. The deadline for submitting additional evidence is 9am on Monday 24th June 2024. The Appeal Clerk will send notification of the Hearing (Date and Time) and the Statement of Case to the Appellants, week commencing 17 June 2024. Proposed appeal hearing dates are between 8th – 12th July 2024.

Spring/Summer 2024 appeals will take place on Zoom.

Decision letters will be sent within 5 working days of the appeal hearing, subject to any unforeseen circumstances.

Once places have been offered and accepted, children will be invited into school for settling-in afternoons.

In order to reflect the Local Education Authority’s guidance and to ensure a calm and purposeful start to their school journey, children experience a part-time entry into school when they first join St Loys in September.

Our Foundation Stage teacher, Mrs Addison, also offers a home visit for an informal chat at the beginning of September.
