Dear Parents and Carers,
The smell of freshly cooked pancakes filled the corridors this week, lemon & sugar or maple syrup – they were all delicious! Thank you so much to the talents of Mrs Rowland and Mrs Lawrence who made sure that every child in school was able to enjoy a pancake. Not a single flipped pancake landed on the floor or stuck to the ceiling! In worship this week we have discussed the Christian origins of Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday. Badgers have also explored the church service for Ash Wednesday and can explain why a small dusty cross of ash is marked on the forehead as a sign of repentance and forgiveness. This time also marks the start of Lent and many of our children have made Lenten scrolls whilst considering prayer, fasting and almsgiving as the three main activities Christians develop during this lead up to Holy Week and Easter.
