The child has one intuitive aim: self development

Newsletter 13 – 3rd December 2021

Dear Parents & Carers

Advent is an important time in the Church calendar and serves as an anticipation of Christ’s birth in the season leading up to Christmas.  Advent is the period of four Sundays and weeks before Christmas and marks the coming or Advent of Jesus into the world.  The Advent wreath, similar to the one lit by Isaac K this week, first appeared in Germany in 1839.  The children, in our Christmas Tree Dressing Ceremony, remembered the representation of the candles for hope, faith, joy and peace.  This is a beautiful time in school as the children help us to prepare for the joy of Christmas. On Tuesday, every child, in their family groups, selected a Christmas tree decoration and hung it ceremoniously on the beautiful fresh tree so generously donated by Harry & Emilia’s family.  We are truly very grateful for their kindness and in true celebrity style, Harry and Emilia gave the finishing flourish to our tree by switching on the lights! Enjoy a few highlights from our ceremony here and on our Facebook page.
