Proposed closure of St Loys CEVA Primary Academy

An application has been made to the Department of Education to close St Loys CEVA Primary Academy due to insufficient pupil numbers.

While the school is a good school, there are currently no pupils enrolled at the school and no applications for a school place for September 2026.

It is therefore with regret that Evolve Church Academy Trust is proposing that the school be closed by September 2026, subject to approval by the DfE. This will have minimal impact on local families and children given there are no pupils enrolled at the school.

The local authority’s school admissions team confirms there are a surplus of places within the surrounding local area to accommodate any school place applications, should the closure be approved.

The school is owned by the Diocese, which is keen to ensure the resource continues to benefit the best interests of the local community, should the closure be approved.

A listening period took place during June 2026 to give local people the opportunity to give their views on the proposed closure.

A decision will now be made by the DfE and we will share this with you as soon as possible.
