The child has one intuitive aim: self development

Dear Parents & Carers

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL

An excited buzz has filled St Loys today and what a joy it is to be around the children as we make our final preparations for Christmas. This morning we held not one, but three Christingle services, in our class bubbles.  As we remembered with the children the significance of the Christingle orange and each of its parts, we recognised and celebrated Jesus, as the “Light of the World.”  This year more than ever, we thought about the candle as the symbol of the light of Christ and families celebrating across the world; the light bringing hope to people living in darkness during Advent.  Once Christmas Day is with us, the light will symbolise the birth of Jesus and at Epiphany, God’s light for all people.

Despite not being together, our Christingle services were still very special and as always, the children of St Loys were incredibly sensible and respectful throughout the services.  Enjoy some of their beautiful expressions here as they shared in the quiet reflection.
