The child has one intuitive aim: self development

Newsletter 3 Summer Term 5, 6th May 2022

Dear Parents & Carers

This week has been a week of special celebrations. We started our week with our May Day celebrations, which we have discovered dates back originally to Roman times as farmers and families gave thanks to the Goddess Flora. Flora was responsible for the harvest; for crops and flowers and for all things related to nature. Our own little Flora, in Hedgehogs, felt very proud to find that her name has such a historical story.

We would also like to wish some of our families across Evolve Trust a very happy Eid Mubarak. Some of our families were celebrating, as they ended the fasting for the month of Ramadan and remembered the time in which the Qu’ran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

KEY STAGE 2 SATs

Children in Year 6 will take their standardised assessment tests week beginning Monday 9th May. All Year 6 children will be in school from 8.30am for a SATs breakfast and a calm way to start the day. Please make sure that your child is in school on time all week and have peaceful evenings and sensible bedtimes. Everyone at St Loys wishes Year 6 confidence, stamina and to try their very best. My timetable has been altered next week so that I can be in school every day to deliver the SATs programme.
