The child has one intuitive aim: self development

Newsletter 4, Summer Term, 13th May 2022

Dear Parents & Carers

I begin with our wonderful little group of Year 6 pupils – Miran, Isaac, Felix and Fynley. This week they have turned up at 8:30am every day, perhaps helped by the promise of some breakfast treats, each with a positive and calm attitude in readiness for their week of testing (SATs). I have been wholly impressed by the children’s ability to concentrate, to focus on the task in hand and to remain composed whilst under pressure. All of our Year 6 pupils deserve my star pupil award this week for working so hard and with such maturity. St Loys is proud of all of you for your positive approach – well done!

Contrary to popular pupil belief, this is not the end of the curriculum for the Year 6. There are still topics that we have not yet covered in Key Stage 2 and we have a selection of work to complete sent from the secondary schools as part of the transition packages.

Following the half term break, I will be hosting an information event for all of the parents and children in Year 6 in readiness for the Year 6 residential in July this year.

Some of our Year 2 pupils are now carrying out assessments with Mrs Watts and we wish them all every success too.
