The child has one intuitive aim: self development

Newsletter 5, Term 5, 19th May 2023

Another jam packed week, this time with a focus on our Year 2 children in Squirrels. Our younger children have this week spent time in small groups working on assessments for aspects of English and maths. These Key Stage 1 standardised tests are handled expertly by Mrs Watts to ensure that Year 2 enjoy the special attention and are not remotely upset by the prospect of being tested. Year 2 were happily taking part this week and have each completed their papers with enthusiasm and determination. Well done Year 2 – Grace, Sonney, Leo, Lara and Mason – we are all very proud of your efforts!

A full and thorough annual safeguarding audit has also been carried out this week by Karen Theobald, one of our Evolve Multi Academy Trust board members. Mrs Theobald has a long career background in safeguarding and social care and talking to her has been an extremely useful collaboration. Mrs Theobald was very impressed by the systems and procedures in place to ensure our children are happy, safe and well cared for as well as all legal requirements being fully met. Thank you to all of the wonderful team at St Loys who dedicate their time to ensuring our children are so well cared for every single day in school.
