St. Loys Boccia September 2021.
What a wonderful afternoon we had taking part in intra-school Boccia competition to mark National Boccia Day. We donned our House colours and worked together to complete 4 different games based around the inclusive sport that is Boccia. We began with a little intro of the history of the game and how it has evolved over the years from Ancient Greece, through Italy (Bocca), France (Boules/Petanque), UK (Bowls) and then adapted to be included as a Paralympic sport in 1984 – we watched this clip from the recent Paralympic Games to give us context and then ‘the games’ began…
