‘Healthy ME’ Week at St Loys

Northamptonshire Sport and First for Wellbeing.

St Loys have featured in Northamptonshire Sport’s recent press release:

‘On Wednesday the Healthy ME tour visited St. Loys Primary Academy. We were treated to a delicious healthy lunch by the school’s catering staff and had the opportunity to eat with pupils and hear how much they enjoy their lunch times. After eating, we watched the school’s new ‘Sports Crew’ deliver fun games to younger pupils whilst other pupils and Blaze explored the shared community play equipment. After Lunch, Head teacher Rob Hazelgrove provided an insightful tour of the historic school explaining the investment the school has committed to improving pupil’s health and wellbeing and the benefits it is providing to the school community. We were shown exciting new plans for the school’s allotment area where children will be growing, preparing and eventually cooking their very own vegetables. We were then able to see the school’s Health and Fitness lead, Sarah Williams, deliver an energy pumping PE lesson to year 5 & 6. It was wonderful to hear about the incredible efforts by the whole school community to encourage children to be healthier and witness some of its success today.
Our thanks to all the staff and pupils at St. Loys for their hospitality today.’
